Judges is a book that chapter by chapter points to our need for a Savior! We read in Judges 17:6 “In those days there was no king in Israel and everyone did as they saw fit”, the modern-day equivalent of “doing our own thing”. This was an approx. 350-year period between Joshua & Samuel (Israel's first king). It was a time when God raised up deliverers (Judges) to deliver the people from the consequences of their sin/disobedience. They do not learn or change, and God does not forsake them -Why? 2 Peter 2:19 tells us "people are slaves to whatever has mastered them." The Book of Judges lives this truth out.
