In Matthew 26:31 Jesus predicts not only Peter but all of His disciples will fall away, "'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.” Yet, one of the first things Jesus does after His resurrection is to receive Peter back into the fold and restore Him. His restoration is linked to his repentance as Jesus asks him three times, “Peter do you love me?” Jesus anticipates we will fall because we have a fallen nature, but he does expect us to get back up by His grace and the power of the Holy Spirit He sent. He knows we cannot make it alone, but do we? How much can we depend upon Him when he states in Matthew 32:33-34 “Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven” He wants and demands our dependency and trust in Him and only then can we agree with Paul who states, “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel…” Stan Lind will be leading us off as talk about, “Peters denial and Our denial”
To join with other men from the North Shore of Milwaukee and beyond who choose to follow Jesus Christ in obedience to His call to serve Him, honor Him, learn of Him and share His message of grace with other men. FaithWalkers seek to shape and hone men into men of spiritual influence.
A formal bible study is conducted each week that focuses on Biblical truth and how these truths may be applied to daily living in the market place. Men gather in large and small groups to interact around the studies that are presented by a lay member-leader.
Men from Faithwalkers volunteer to respond to specific prayer needs communicated through internet systems. A team of more than seventy men is committed to being able to receive electronic messages that seek prayer support around a specific request.
Faithwalkers is led by a board of laymen chaired by Greg Bennett. Their role is to determine the ministry goals, teaching topics and schedules, plan special events, and oversee all programs activities.
The Board is made up of the following 7 members:
