Savior of the World –
This is a painting owned and restored by Reuben Getschow and below are his comments to me. I am passing it along and posting it during this Passover Time:
“I had this 15th century Flemish painting restored a few months a go and thought that this may be a great time to share it. The subject is Salvator Mundi
the image appears to me as a warrior king in a simple but elegant garb rather than a jeweled aloof figure I cannot relate to.
The iron septre on top of the transparent iron bound world with the arm of the cross pointing down giving the image of a scale reminds me of our nature
The hand is the most important part giving me the feeling of Jesus welcoming me
As I own the painting the image is free”
